Like the Other Times



Their bodies were covered with sweat and hot scents. He was still inside her. She laid her head on his chest, his heartbeats meeting her ears. They were panting from joy and contentment. But she decided to break the silence.

“I love you.” She said.

No response came. Just a sigh of his breath. Like the other times. Like yesterday.

With that, the sweet ecstasy of the recent love left her. With that, her heart and soul felt defeated and betrayed. With that, she closed her eyes and watched herself die. Again.
