Burn (Friday Fictioneers)

Copyright -Rochelle Wisoff-Fields

Greetings! This is my first story for Friday Fictioneers! cheers The challenge is to write a 100-word story (it’s alright to go over a few words over the word count).  So, here’s my story for this week:

WORD COUNT: 100
TITLE: Burn

The hairs behind Carla’s neck raised. She sniffed and guffawed. “Why does it smell like burned something?”

“Well, rumors say that females were burned in this place as a sacrifice to the gods. Pretty horrible.”

The staircase clinked against Carla’s heels. “Ooohh! I wonder who burned them.” She stifled a laugh.

May smiled. “I did.”

May slushed the petroleum she was holding to Carla, and lit up a match. Carla began to yelp. May threw the lit match to Carla, and fire engulfed her body.

The once silent building was now filled with Carla’s loud screams and May’s hysterical laugh.

THE END

  1. Welcome to FF! You’ve started out by killing people – I like it 🙂
I wonder if May is really sacrificing to the gods, or if she just likes watching people burn?
