Unexpected Cup (Daily Prompt)

“Who’s the last person you saw before reading this prompt? Whether it’s a family member, a coworker, or a total stranger, write a post about what that person is thinking right now.” – Daily Prompt

My little sister is sitting across me, watching the television. Nobody in my family knows I have some unearthly abilities. With the nothing to do at the moment, I look straight into her eyes and push myself in her thoughts.

Hmmm… Hmmm… Where is my package? Hmmm…”

I bite my lower lip to keep from laughing. “Oh my god, I need that cup right now…”

I close my eyes and connects the image of her cup to the delivery man. I feel my heart beats fast. It’s already here. “Your package is here.” I say to my sister.

“What?” She asks, her eyes are wide. I snicker.

Suddenly, a beep comes from outside of our house. I give my sister an “I-told-you-so” look. She’s stunned for a minute before she goes out and takes the package.

When she returns, I immediately blurt out, “The cup is smaller than the image you saw on the net. You’ll get disappointed, by the way.”

She opens her package, tearing the plastic fast. A small, pink cup greets her. “Oh, it’s a fraud! I can’t… I can’t believe… Argh!”

“I’m right, yeah?” I ask.

She clears her throat and gives me a poker face. “No, it’s exactly what I imagined. Excuse me.”

She goes to the kitchen and washes her cup. “I’m never, ever going to order from that site anymore. And how the hell my brother knows about this? Weird. Anyway, I’m crazy. I’m talking to myself. Argh, what frustration can do!”

I burst out laughing alone and channel out myself from my little sister’s mind.
