“You are on a mission to Mars. Because of the length of of the journey, you will never be able to return to Earth. What about our blue planet will you miss the most? (Thank you for the wonderful prompt suggestion, K. Renae P.!)” – Daily Prompt
I’m on a mission here on Mars. I need to find out if people can live on this planet. The worst thing? I’m alone. Nobody from my team wanted to join me, so I’m going to do it on my own. Walking around the orange space, I can’t brush the odd feeling I’m having.
I miss talking and seeing people talk.
Maybe it’s because I’m alone, though the hot air of people’s breaths are a thing I miss. Even if the expressions plaster on their faces are forced or fake, every time I hear the sound of their speech, my insides revitalize and the rush of excitement flows around my body.
Seeing this place without a single human? It’s starting to make me lose my mind. I sigh and just begin my mission, so I can go back again and witness the thing I most miss.
