I raised my hands. “It’s alright. I understand. I needed to see that incident, you know,” I heard my voice crack. I could not erase the memory of him beside a friend of mine, all bare. “I just want to thank you for showing me how to love again, thank you for making me believe I can love again, and, lastly, thank you because, now, you showed me why I should not love again.”
