Your Home (Poetry)

crumpled_bed_sheets_by_dexdork

everything looks shaken;
on edge is our faith,
the hope on fire,
in somebody’s lungs the breath lies.
no soul to save,
no heart to belong in.
slurred words
with a raspy voice
to tell me, “I don’t need you,”
yet i still love you.
who am I to you, anyway?
when the words you believe in
are your home.
