It has a been pure ecstasy – the solitariness and being alone.
I missed you; should I speak it out loud? I clutch the railings of the lighthouse; do you know that I still fear the heights? The sunset is almost coming – as if it is not already inside me. I have learned to listen to the quiet waves of the ocean as my music – I picture it as your honey-blended voice. The cool touches of the wind has become the hands you embrace around it – I welcome its coldness. I am still hoping you will be here.
There is a set of slow clinks ascending from the stairs. I hold my breath and steady my gaze to the view before me. Am I caught?
The sound stops as it nears. I tightly hold onto the metal pole of the barriers.
“Louise…” Tears rush from my eyes and I abruptly sob.
I do not turn around.
