Run! Double Time! (Friday Fictioneers)

Greetings! Below is my story for this week’s challenge. Check out Ms. Rochelle’s page for more information about this fun writings! Let’s hammer this story!

As long as they are hungry, they will hunt for food; in particular, flesh. The survivors calmly fall in line although their lungs scream, “double time!” to the ones after them.

Horrifying, gargling sounds erupt.

“Faster!” The bus driver howls.

The bus alarm rings when the last survivor, a child, enters. The zombie cries come closer.

“I’m sorry, you have to leave!”

“No, please! Let us ride, please!” Her mother pleads.

“Either you or the child must leave!”

With trembling lips, the mother descends – leaving her wailing daughter.

The bus speeds off just when a loud, human cry mounts.

  1. I’m sure it didn’t take long for that mother to decide between herself and her child. Although we hear of mothers killing their children in the news….they usually don’t let Zombies getting to them. Good one.
