Perhaps you do not know how secured I am when you round your arms around my hips. Your scent calms my dark head; it places the vanilla air on top of my fog. Your sultry breaths keep me imprisoned to where the paradise resides. When your skin touch mine, it tells me the story I do not deserve.
Each passing day, you stay. Do you know how many nights I trade just to make myself believe you will still be here the next dawn? My eyes are getting tired, but I do not shut them because of the nagging fear. Do not leave when I sleep; you will only take my purity with you.
“I’m here.” Your honey-coated tone assaulted my troubled ears. My stiff posture begins to fade. I clasp my fingers around yours before I kiss them. My lungs constrict as my self-doubts heighten. I cannot breathe, but I pretend I rest well.
