a white dress for your dark soul. (friday fictioneers).

“I’ll take this one, Miranda.”

“How did you know my name?”

“Try to remove the tag from your dirty clothes.” I didn’t like her tone. I folded the white dress and covered it with a brown paper—the one with dark prayers. “Enjoy the dress, miss.”

Midnight rose and the candles burned. I kissed my dead mother’s lips. “One more soul, Mama.” The thunders roared and the library room dimmed. I called His name to offer the last tainted soul. “Take her and bring back my mother.”

A lightning struck. Somewhere in my head, someone screeched.

My mother’s eyes opened.

  1. Killer story- *too soon?. Well done though..just wondering did you mean ‘a lightning struck or strike?
Doesn’t take away from the chills in the story.

  2. Creative Matthew. Taking tainted souls to bring her Mother back, sounds like a paranormal beginning to an excellent book. I only wonder if her Mother’s dead, should we be bringing the dead back? I wonder if her Mother will be quite the same.
