“Try to remove the tag from your dirty clothes.” I didn’t like her tone. I folded the white dress and covered it with a brown paper—the one with dark prayers. “Enjoy the dress, miss.”
Midnight rose and the candles burned. I kissed my dead mother’s lips. “One more soul, Mama.” The thunders roared and the library room dimmed. I called His name to offer the last tainted soul. “Take her and bring back my mother.”
A lightning struck. Somewhere in my head, someone screeched.
My mother’s eyes opened.
