One dull afternoon, Miranda turns on the television. The Golden Stone advertisement plays. “You are not yet beautiful, but you will be! Limited stocks!”
The next day, Leona joins Miranda on her search for the product. The pharmacy has one stone left. “Rock, paper, scissors: whoever wins will have the stone,” said Miranda.
As usual, Miranda wins. “I don’t need it, anyway,” said Leona, but her infatuation with Michael tells her she does. Miranda swallows the Golden Stone, but her sister plunges a kitchen knife into her throat.
Leona retrieves the blood-covered stone from Miranda’s mouth—at last, she wins.
