It had begun to understand you as to whoever you wanted to be—even just as a reflection of who you were before. It had bestowed its unforsaken promises to you without any malice or desires you had to return. Its eyes had glowed with serenity as it kissed your exhausted body, bringing the scent of life you never knew existed.
It would not pass before you, but through you; it would grow inside you until its name was the only sound of letters you could speak. It would consume you better than death until your conscience came clean alike with the dark wax of the moon.
It had seen the thousand blood-filled tears you had shed for him without remorse. It had become your guardian without your knowledge as you had thought it did not exist at all.
So tonight, it would rest inside your heart and sleep, just so it could take back who you lost along the way.
