pivot.

from Asim Alnamat

In the echoes of somebody else’s name, you sang the holy praises of your woes. His merry hands clouded your lips, your cheeks, your tears, and your rips until he sank his dear hands into your lungs to take your heart.

But your breath did not falter; it crippled to bliss, instead. How many days had I waited to hear those tones in your voice? To hear your pleas towards my name?

When your shadow pivoted along with his, the blood of my veins turned from purple to death. But my eyes were still indigo blue—the ever hopeful.
