from an omen to a remorse.

from Pexels;

Every healed wound I found on the land of your skin reminded me of the servant I became. For every open gash you brought to me came a stitch through my trembling fingers—a river of punctures into your stubborn skin, but you endured it with whiskey.

I thought my anticipation and hunger to each of your return would be enough to replace the honor you wanted to uphold. But after a thousand battle to defend your dignity, I accepted your design of love.

As your ship sails to the unknown ocean, I stand on the white shore to let the winds carry my quiet farewell to you. The ocean’s calm waves want to tell me to wait for the halcyon before I make my departure, but waiting from this point is a smother.

So I send an albatross to your way; may it bring you the good omen you need, and serve you the memory of a once hidden remorse.
