the book to walk (away, take note).

of Adrianna Calvo

She breathes the words of that book about the sea and its wind. The way the writer describes the tranquility of the sea and its storms underneath, plus let us not forget about the monsters, make her heart desire to wander around and search for her own. One day, she leaves me and becomes a vagabond. Before she packed her bags, she gave me a copy of the book and I kept it. Years after, she is still somewhere until one day she comes back and tells me the path she was looking for lead her to me. I already burned the book I say and she cries. But I do not tell her I kept the ashes of its words, and I watch her walk away again with a heavy heart.
